Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 2026
At IntuEat, food is personal.
Every retreat, gathering and private chef experience is created around the people, the place and the season. My intention is to make the food feel thoughtful, abundant and nourishing, while leaving room for creativity and spontaneity.
When you book IntuEat, you are not booking a fixed menu. You are trusting me with the culinary experience, and these Terms & Conditions help make sure we have a clear and respectful understanding of how we work together.
Booking & Payment
A booking is confirmed once the 30% non-refundable deposit has been received and your booking has been confirmed in writing.
The remaining balance is due 7 days before the first day of the retreat or service.
For bookings made less than 7 days before the event, full payment may be required at the time of booking.
If the final balance is not received by the payment deadline, I reserve the right to cancel the booking and release the date.
Your Menu: Created, Not Chosen
IntuEat does not work with fixed or pre-set menus. I create each menu specifically for the people I am cooking for, taking into consideration your preferences, dietary requirements, the style and rhythm of your retreat, the season and what is available locally.
This is an important part of the IntuEat experience.
You provide me with your preferences and requirements, and I bring my experience, creativity and knowledge to the table. I ask that you allow me the freedom to work intuitively and make adjustments when needed.
Ingredients and dishes may change according to seasonal availability, freshness, quality and what is available from local producers and suppliers.
The final menu may therefore differ from an initial conversation or proposal, while remaining true to the agreed preferences, dietary requirements and overall experience.
By booking IntuEat, you agree to give the chef reasonable creative freedom to shape the menu.
Dietary Requirements & Allergies
Please share all dietary requirements, allergies, intolerances and important food preferences as early as possible.
For retreats, all final dietary information should be provided no later than 14 days before arrival.
I will always do my best to accommodate your needs. However, requests or changes made within 14 days of the retreat may not always be possible.
Please clearly communicate any serious or medically diagnosed allergies.
I take food allergies seriously and follow reasonable precautions, but because I work in kitchens where common allergens may be present, I cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.
Guest Numbers
Final guest numbers must be confirmed 14 days before the first day of the retreat or event.
If the number of guests decreases after this point, the agreed fee will remain unchanged. This is because shopping, preparation, planning and other arrangements will already have been made based on the confirmed number of guests.
Additional guests are welcome where possible and will be charged at the agreed additional guest rate.
Cancellation
I understand that plans sometimes change. At the same time, once a booking is confirmed, I reserve those dates exclusively for you and begin planning, sourcing and preparing for your experience. For this reason, the following cancellation terms apply.
If you cancel more than 30 days before the booking, the 30% deposit is retained. Any additional payment may be refunded, less any non-refundable costs already incurred.
If you cancel 15 to 30 days before the booking, 50% of the total booking fee is payable.
If you cancel 8 to 14 days before the booking, 75% of the total booking fee is payable.
If you cancel 7 days or less before the booking, 100% of the total booking fee is payable.
Any costs that I have already committed to on your behalf, such as ingredients, accommodation, transportation, staff, equipment or other suppliers, remain payable and are non-refundable.
Changing Your Dates
If you need to move your retreat or event to another date, please let me know as soon as possible.
I will always try to accommodate a change of date where my availability allows.
If the new date falls outside the applicable cancellation period, payments already made may be transferred to the new date.
Changes requested within the cancellation period may be treated as a cancellation.
Any difference in cost resulting from a change of date, guest numbers, location or scope of service may apply.
What Your Chef Experience Includes
Your agreed fee includes the services discussed when your booking is confirmed, which may include menu development, ingredient sourcing, preparation and cooking for the agreed number of guests and meals.
Additional services such as extra meals, extended service hours, additional staff, table service, special equipment, additional shopping or other requests are not automatically included unless agreed in advance.
If something changes during the retreat, let's talk about it. Where possible, any additional costs will be discussed before the additional service is provided.
The Kitchen & The Space
The client or retreat venue is responsible for providing a clean, safe and reasonably equipped kitchen suitable for the agreed service.
I will communicate any important equipment requirements before the retreat.
If the available kitchen or equipment is significantly different from what was agreed, I will do my best to adapt. This may mean adjusting the menu, timing or way the food is prepared.
Any additional equipment or services required may incur an additional cost.
Seasonal & Local Ingredients
One of the things I love most about cooking in different places is working with what is around me.
I prioritise fresh, seasonal and locally available ingredients whenever possible.
Sometimes an ingredient simply isn't available, isn't at its best, or something much better has arrived that day. In those moments, I may make a change.
This is part of the IntuEat approach: cooking with the season rather than forcing the season to fit the menu.
Suitable substitutions may therefore be made while respecting the agreed dietary requirements, preferences and character of the experience.
Your Part in the Experience
To create the best possible experience, I ask that you provide accurate and timely information about the final number of guests, dietary requirements and allergies, food preferences, the retreat schedule, the location and kitchen facilities, and anything else that may affect the service.
The more I understand about your group, the better I can create something that feels right for you.
IntuEat cannot be responsible for issues resulting from information that is incomplete, inaccurate or provided too late.
If I Need to Cancel
I take every booking seriously and will do everything reasonably possible to fulfil my commitment.
In the unlikely event that I am unable to provide the agreed service because of serious illness, an emergency or circumstances beyond my reasonable control, I will communicate with you as soon as possible and, where possible, work towards finding an alternative solution.
If I have to cancel and no suitable alternative can be arranged, all payments received for the affected booking will be refunded.
I cannot be responsible for additional costs such as flights, accommodation, venue costs or other third-party expenses.
Circumstances Beyond Our Control
Sometimes things happen that neither of us can reasonably prevent, such as extreme weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, serious travel disruption, war, civil unrest, fire or other circumstances that make the service impossible or unsafe.
If something like this happens, I will work with you in good faith to find the best possible solution, which may include rescheduling the booking.
A Note About Responsibility
I take reasonable care in the preparation and service of all food and maintain appropriate professional liability insurance.
It is important that all allergies and dietary requirements are communicated accurately and in advance.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, IntuEat is not responsible for indirect or consequential costs arising from a booking, including travel, accommodation, venue costs or other third-party expenses.
Privacy
Any personal information you provide is used only as reasonably necessary to communicate with you, organise and provide your experience, process payments and meet legal or administrative requirements.
Your information will not be sold or shared for unrelated marketing purposes.
Please see our Privacy Policy for full details.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Croatia.
Any disputes will be handled in accordance with applicable Croatian law.
Acceptance
By paying the deposit or otherwise confirming your booking with IntuEat, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
These Terms are intended to create clarity for both of us, so that once your dates are secured, we can focus on the important part: creating a beautiful food experience together.
